Coiltek 14" Mono Elite Coil information and questions

Curiosity got the better of me today so I phoned CoilTek and spoke to them about the new 14" coil. I discussed my thoughts and findings on using the coil on my GPX 5000 and also asked the big question, has the increased depth and sensitivity come about thru new technology? I had better point out...

Juipiter creek, South Australia SA information and questions

Hi StirFX, using Google I found this for you! http://www.samininghistory.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/jupiter-ck-broch-red.pdf There is still gold to be found there, I found a tiny 0.3g piece only a few weeks ago. Alluvial gold both shallow and deep by the look of some of the shafts was...

Coiltek 14" Mono Elite Coil information and questions

I got a chance today to try out the new Mono Elite at Jupiter Creek. I just recently bought the GPX5000 from Miners Den and today was a training day for me with Nenad as the instructor. I put the new coil on at home and turned the machine on for the first time at the diggings just as Nenad...

Coiltek 14" Mono Elite Coil information and questions

Impressive digging GD :o I plan on giving it a try at Tibooburra at the end of July. Last year I got plenty of tiny nuggets with the SDC2300, but the soil over there in places runs a bit deep for it, so the 5000 with the elite should fill in the detection gaps nicely. Ian

Coiltek 14" Mono Elite Coil information and questions

Hey GD, did you get a 14" skid plate included with the coil? Are they available as an accessory if they dont come with the coil? I had a look on the CoilTek website and they do a 14" skid plate for another coil, but I dont know if it fits the Elite Mono. Ian

    GPZ7000: Info, Tips, Finds

Looks like the problems/complexity of ground balancing a GPZ 7000 are being addressed in innovative ways! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R0yp5Iygi7M Minelab are supposedly providing ferrites to perform the ground balance to customers who have purchased a GPZ 7000. Ian...

    Minelab SDC2300 information and questions

JeffP, have a look at this link from Minelab http://www.minelab.com/aus/gold-mining/detectors Its got some good info on the differences of the machines including tech info on technology types used on each. Basically the blurb states that the SDC2300 will re-open the gold fields to all the small...

    Minelab GPZ7000 information and questions

Miners Den are now offering finance with a limited interest free period!!!!!!! Looks like the high price of the GPZ7000 may be causing worries of slowing sales or maybe now with detector prices above $10k they are exploring new ways of getting customers to buy. Its going to be interesting...

    GPZ7000 release, questions and information

I have never seen business conducted like this before! ML want a $500 non-refundable deposit without providing the cost of the GPZ 7000. Dont believe me then look here...

minelab series...where are the "leap forwards"

I just received an email from Miners Den in Adelaide showing the 2300SDC on special and to me that would indicate a new ML detector is about to be released. The SDC is still the latest model in their line up but maybe not for much longer? Ian

    Steveo1's Tibooburra trip

I was wondering the same thing and ended up buying the SDC2300 and no regrets, its as good as people are saying. Buts its horses for courses and if you are after nuggets of size down deep, then the 5000 is the weapon of choice. From what I've seen at Tibooburra the 5000 is also very good with...

Nuggetino, I reckon you used a telephoto lens for that great close up on the black snake. If not then you are braver than most :) Ian

    Advice on GPS units

I bought myself the Garmin Rino which is a touch screen gps and a very good 80 channel uhf radio. Its not cheap but I used it recently to find my way back to the car and was very happy I had it to use! Its on special at the moment, (still a lot of money) with a full set of Australian Topo maps...

    SDC2300 at Tibooburra

No one used a Whites GMT. Mostly were 5000's and I think 3500 and 2200. One member used a Garret VLF unit but did not find anything with it. Ian

    SDC2300 at Tibooburra

I mentioned earlier that one of the guys in our group was using a 5000 with a 14x7 mono coil and he was finding the tiny nuggets as well. Not as sensitive as the SDC to the small stuff but he still did very well. I would not be selling a 5000 if I had one and after watching it work with the mono...

    SDC2300 at Tibooburra

Diggerdave73, I found I was swinging the detector probably at medium speed. The surface around the diggings is pretty rocky with quartz gravel and larger pieces interspersed. On the gully slopes there were large ironstone rocks, so a fast swing just was not on as I wanted to keep the coil as...

Congrats Heatho! Thats a great photo of the nuggs on the 50C coin, well done. I know what you mean about finding your first little piece of gold, for me it was initial surprise that I actual found one and then a little excitement. Then I figured if there's little ones around maybe there are...
