    Creeks after floods

Hi, some of my favourite spots have had huge amounts of water through in the Vic floods - some say the most in 30-40 years. I went for a look yesterday and trees have been uprooted by the water etc, so it’s significant. I haven’t been prospecting long enough to know what to expect after a flood...

    Fake private property signs

Hi all - Im going to bet that the same person whos been destroying a local creek is the same person putting heaps of these signs up in what has always been crown land accessible to all. All I can say is do your research so you know what is private and what isnt.

    Giving out locations

Theres a creek near where I live that Ive been going to for a few years. It has very nice gold in patches but unfortunately was mentioned by people on one of the Facebook forums. Since then it has been absolutely smashed, rubbish everywhere etc. This is why I dont reveal my spots. Im not real...

    Fresh crevices

Went for a wander along a gold bearing creek where Ive found plenty before and found a nice stretch where no one has been for a long long time. Lots of crevices like this and some lovely bedrock and bends to play in... A tip - often what looks like private land isnt, get online and see where...

    Look what I found

A lovely creek that has lovely bedrock and test panning has been sensational - and even better - no-one else has been there for a very very long time.. guess where I will be this weekend?

    accessing creeks

Some good looking creeks running under roads in my part of the world. They've been named. They run through private property. I would knock on the door and ask if I can have a poke around, but am I able to anyway? Are all named creeks in Vic crown land or not? I can't seem to find any clear...

    New spot

Quick few test pans in a new spot where there hasnt been any digging for a very long time. Was very rich back in the old days. Will be going back with the sluice for sure

    why is it so?

The creek I've been going to lately seems to have all its gold in the top foot and a half of gravel, the deeper I go, the less there is. I can comfortably get a gram or more per day in the highbanker. Just not sure if it's worth digging all the way to bedrock, despite what a lot of the experts...

Took my new highbanker for a run

First outing, very user friendly... got more than half the gold (including picker at bottom left) in this pic which is what I've found since joining the site on April 27. If you want a highbanker, spend the money and get a Goldrat. Sturdy, reliable gear.

Nice morning on the creek with my 7 year old. Getting something was a bonus.

    Hi from near Kilmore

Hi - been reading posts here for a while and learning a lot. Went out to a local creek with my daughters on the weekend and had some luck - will be heading back soon. This is a great site. So much knowledge. (how do I make the pic smaller?)
