Hey guys I found this quartz’s rock in a creek i was at today, has some cool crystals in it and want to break it apart. Any tips on how to break it open? Cheers

$6 door mat from Bunnings makes a good sluice mat! Needs a bit of a tidy up but keen to get out and use it

Plus non of my test pans had much gold, had better luck in Daylesford at sailors creek. Hard without a 4wd but I’ve started using my e-bike to go on the 4wd tracks and a hiking pack with everything in it including the sluice

I did go to the bend where all 3 creeks met and had some good flow but not enough for the sluice

Went to slaty creek for the first time today to do some panning and sluicing. expected some flow and was disappointed

Water was very cold but had the gumboots on so just the hands got a bit chilly, good day out in the bush

Went out to sailors creek in Daylesford today. Spent a few hours with the sluice and picked up a few nice specks.
