I came across this agatised looking rod that seems to have age rings? I'm not sure if it's wood, a vegetable, a cephalopod or some kind of man made ceramic of sorts?
Any help appreciated, it was found in Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia.
The long one is normally petrified wood and I think the rounder one is agatised. They're both within the range of a kilo but are both pretty diferrent in appearance.
Without any treatment or grinding and whatnot, are these actually valuable beyond the appreciation of natural beauty in the eye...
