Did a little panning near a rock bar that run through a creek and I haven’t seen gold in long strands like this before. But I am only relatively new to panning. Does the shape of the gold indicate that it hasn’t traveled far? From the source? Any ideas and theories?

Yes I also have been sent a survey and hope that we see some improvement and or simplification in the process of getting permission to fossick on crown land. Well at least they are trying to get info to hopefully make some changes

I recently tried crown lands to fossick at Yawal. 3 weeks and 3 different departments the request was transferred to.

Steel blues in 589 they have toe protection great ankle support and the only metal is the the zipper pull tag. Which sits above the ankle. Great for detecting.

An older post but relevant when using the older GPX detectors that come second hand these days at reasonable entry level prices like my GPX 4500 this link at the threads beginning was informative and I also reviewed the blog on coils on phase tech’s site which answered a lot of my newbie...

Would the coil choices be the same with a GPX 4500? As the GPX 5000 As I have a second hand 4500 and yet to swing it and the types of coils has me a bit confused on what to use when
