    ⭐ Alluvial Show n Tell

Spent a week away in Vic the other week. With the family we went to Soverign Hill so thats the one by itself for 0.3g as well as doing pans for both kids (prob nearly 20 in a few hours). Then I left the family and spent a week with the camper trailer at Eldorado. Boy was the weather great...

    ⭐ Gold Detecting Show'n Tell

Took a Gold and Relics day tour at Creswick while I was in Vic for a holiday a few weeks ago now. Perfect weather for it, guide took us to a good location and I got to use a 6K for the first time. Working a surfaced area (away from the rest of the group) I managed these two tidbits after lunch...

    ⭐ Alluvial Show n Tell

Finally got out to the creek today after 12 months. Only managed one hour as pumping began again. Was also 37 degrees so the 10 or so pans for 0.03g wasnt terrible given the first 5 were sampling and learning what had changed in the since I was last there. Was good to get out with the little guy...

    Pipettes for concentrates

I hardly use mine anymore. There was a video showing taking the "straw" out of the snuffer bottle lid, put the lid back on and use to get the gold into your vial from there, if that helps. I bought about 100 on ebay years ago for another project from China for about $15 back then. Cheers Craig

what is the name of this tool and where can it be purchased online?

It was hand made using thin fiber glass rods grouped together like a toothbrush and epoxied into place on the handle. He might have done a video on it but I cant remember

    Today I MADE

Tried my first bit of Ally braising yesterday, last time I braised was in high school so its not pretty as I had to figure out melt temps etc. (and never done with ally before) This was to replace the sluice leg I lost a while back, user error. Must not have had it done up tight enough and as...

    ⭐ Alluvial Show n Tell

Managed to get out last weekend. Sat with the kids and Sun by myself. Went ok for a few hours each day at 0.18 first day (pic on the scales) and quarter gram on the Sunday by myself (pic in the pan). Made a difference to my back taking an old camp chair to put in the water and sit next to the...

    Gold replenished at Oallen Forde...

WalnLiz Just wanted to say thanks for the panning video above. So well explained and I will make sure I de-liquify before I wash over the top of the pan from now on so hopefully get some more flour gold! Great work on your contributions! Cheers

Deeper Targets - Shovel Selection Pinpointing - Volcanic Soil

I have the Tyger. Good strong (and starts to get heavy after a while carrying it) but yes can be a bit difficult to try and get the second plug down in the hole done if you need depth. Wonder if rather than angling in to the centre of the holewhen cutting the plug it would help to angle out so...

    ⭐ Alluvial Show n Tell

Been ages since I have been out so went out Tues night to "check the water level" at the creek. Pretty good levels, just 4 degrees but waders kept me warm and water temp was about 12 degrees so fine to have my hands in. About 90 mins work and just under 0.1g. Just need to keep it up and find...

    Coin Hunting

$2 coin hunt today and 5 rolls had these lovely corroded coins in them, not sure what caused it but pretty lazy from who ever was putting them back into coin rolls. Only a few coloured today, must have been a Wiggles day.

    ⭐ Alluvial Show n Tell

Finally managed my first actual run of colour in the creek the other week. Still got some clean up to do (keeping for rainy weather) but approaching 0.1g and finally going from dust to a few flakes (hey it is Adelaide and a pretty worked section). This was one pan's worth so that was exciting...
