    I've never taken the road that far down but it was open for the first 10 kms or so when I went for a detect out that way a month ago. Yes, there are gates but they are not locked. I assume you could drive it all the way down, it's a dirt road which might have been a haul road a long time ago...

    I've read about those types of opal but couldn't find anything about boulder opal, it was probably some other mineral. Space is limited, I didn't pick up a sample... But I took photos of rocks which could be moss opal, found east of kalgoorlie but many kilometres from where the occurences are...

    It still doesn't say anything about prospecting there. So it's an individual decision? Bit complicated if you ask me. There are a lot of FNAs, sometimes they even overlap each other. It's not easy trying to do the right thing and not end up in an area where one is not supposed to prospect.
