Thanks Eldorado, i found them just on dark so i couldnt quite tell what they were, but have found a fair few 1's,2's,5's etc lately, so i knew by the thickness and weight that they were something special, off i rushed home to check!
Pretty happy with my first old coins with the xterra 705. Very loud but different sound in prospecting mode and a solid number 40 in coin mode.
Time to start collecting!
It works great on not so mineralised ground, ive found a piece of lead shot in sand that was so tiny it took me a while to pinpoint!
I'll keep persisting with it though on the gold side of things until i can gather up funds for a PI
Hi Eldorado, nothing with the 705 the ground is very mineralised and the things screams everywhere, it can pick up tiny pieces of lead but they have to nearly be touching the coil.
Could be user fault but ive had a good play around with the settings.

I think my picks are out of the Gp Extreme, Gp 3000 or Gp 3500, probably all that the budget allows too.
