    ⭐ Gold Detecting Show'n Tell

Sounds like good motivation, not that I'm superstitious when it comes to luck finding gold 😜

    Woody modded Gpx 4500 $2150

Holy mackerel the mod cost more than that. Great deal, just need to work out how to use it to your advantage. Woody can give you detailed instructions. My modded 4500 using larger 12" plus coils beats the 6000 in total weight found where the 6 gets more small gold.

From Equinox 800 to GPX 4500

It has taken me years to get my head around my 4500, and when you find settings that work in a particular place, write them down, as, if like me you only go out every few months, you'll forget what the settings were. Following is one of my experiences, followed by an article written by Pat...

How good are our fancy new metal detectors?

Same here, mate with a 6 detecting with me and a modded 4500 in same areas for same time took home just over 5 grams and 22 nuggets, I found 8.5 grams and 8 nuggets. One of mine was 3.9 grams which threw the average out a hell of a lot.

Would like advice on which detector.

Oh yes, I see Reeds Prospecting do a GPX6000 for $320 for a week. I would definitely recommend this alternative as well as I paid $500 for 5 days in Qld and subsequently found about the same value in gold with it.

Would like advice on which detector.

That's an interesting price seeing as how I pay $120 a day in Qld for a 6

    Minelab's next gold machine

    ⭐ Gold Detecting Show'n Tell

I always think of that after I rake up and go over it with an SDC and a 4500, thinking the next 6000 that goes over it will get some choice ground.

    Headphones again

Hi everyone, I am wanting to do Bluetooth headphones/ earplugs for an SDC2300, it is a 2018 model, would appreciate advice on what others have used to make this work well as we need to hear every little noise in the ground now. Thanks in advance.

    G’day mates

If find your comment "my body surrounded by backpacks full of my gear" amusing. I recently spent 2 freezing weeks at Warwick, and have been out to Clermont this week and have arrived home with heat rash on my back lol.

GPX4500 Coil choice for wet ground

Thanks so much for the reply, after finding a few nuggets at Palmerville with the 9" Coiltek, I left the 12" Evo at home last time out. It's going back on this time and will trust the machine instead of doubting it when things aren't working out. I have a couple of settings and guidelines given...

GPX4500 Coil choice for wet ground

Hi Goldfield Joe, I have found about a dozen small nuggets with this machine but all were in drier conditions. I am heading back out with my 12" NF Evo this week. I have hearing loss and I discovered that the hearing aid on one side was blocked up after my last visit to the gold fields. Will...

GPX4500 Coil choice for wet ground

G'day all, hey I know that a lot of people have upgraded to new detectors recently, but I am still trying to work out why people say that a 4500 is a good detector, I have found gold with mine, but it is inconsistent in varying ground conditions. Off to Clermont in Qld on Sunday, when I was...
