AlgoForce E1500 - NEW PI DETECTOR FROM EX MINELAB ENGINEER

Well in my area at least the AF-E1500 is def quieter than the 6000 in mineralisation. There were a few spots today the 6000+11ML was calling target all the time, even on Auto Difficult No Threshold. It wasnt far to the car so I went back and got the AF-E1500 +12NF. in Fine Gold it barely...

    Gemfields QLD

I dont do much fossicking during summer. I'll be up that way in a couple of weeks as the start of my annual winter trip but I will be playing in Clermont then heading North then probably West this time. Lets see what the grass cover looks like up there.....

    Gemfields QLD

Tomahawk Creek between Rubyvale & Clermont is a designated fossicking area (sapphires) and a lovely place to bush camp & lots of shallow workings for you to extend thru back breaking hard labour :) I have also heard from a couple of folk that O'Brien Ck near Mt Surprise is also a nice place...

    Best detecting pick?

Yeah always over the shoulder - keeps the head well away from the coil. with the small head it is actually very comfortable. full size head on a 900 pick is like wearing an extra GPX5000 with an 18 coil :(

    Best detecting pick?

I know it looks a bit out of proportion but I put a 950mm light pelican style handle on a Gold Digger small head pick and I love it. At 1650g all up it is still light enough to use one handed and once you decide to get serious & go 2 handed then it shifts lots of dirt without you having to...

AlgoForce E1500 - NEW PI DETECTOR FROM EX MINELAB ENGINEER

Even if he did use ID as discrim at that level it could only work if the shot size was consistent to get a constant shot ID and if the nuggets all IDed different enough. If the shot size varies ( the usual) and the gold size and shape varies ( always) then the using ID as discrim for shot...

    Access to the Palmer River?

It really depends on how much you love your Forester. If it is a show pony then it wont be by the time you get back. Not saying it will be trashed but whilst Whites Road to Palmerville Gold is a public road and the Forester will manage it ok, once you are there then it will be quite...

AlgoForce E1500 - NEW PI DETECTOR FROM EX MINELAB ENGINEER

A pleasant unexpected surprise in the mail today from Algoforce - the new version of their USB powerpack holder. The front lip is 5.5mm high vs 2.5mm for the old one & the original straps now have no problem holding my rounded edge powerpack firmly in place. Kudos to Algoforce for their...

WA Western Australia Information and Questions

But dont forget that to apply for an 40E you need to drive back out & go to the "local"mining registrar or at least find somewhere with an internet signal and that after you apply that you still cannot access that land for 21 Days. This is to allow the leaseholder the opportunity to assess &...

    MINELAB on a budget

It is a pity the Algoforce AF1500 is currently sold sans coil ( and is sold out :) ). If a newbie didnt have to worry about buying a coil separately ( no biggie for experienced detectorists but a bridge too far for your 1st detector) then it would be easy to recommend it as it is no harder to...

    gold kruzer

For me it is 70% GK24 30% GK19. GK24 for reasonably trashy spots and the GK19 for the super trashy spots & rocky creeks. That ratio doesnt do justice to the GK19 though -it is a great coil. Being a DD the GK19 (7.5 x 4) has each winding only 2.5" wide !! That really concentrates the...

    gold kruzer

I LOVE how quiet my GKruzer is compared with my EQ800, especially in mineralised ground. OK it is not PI quiet but it aint bad. Also v happy with depth on GKruzer but with comparable size coil the EQ800 has noticeably more depth when the ground is better.

Aftermarket Coils for the GPX 6000 - Nugget Finder

Dunno Chets coin but most 1 oz gold coins are ~33mm dia ( ZA Krugerrand, AU Roo, US Eagle). AUD 50C is 32mm AF & 75% Cu so reasonably comparable target. Chet got 17in (425mm) for 11"ML coil & 14in (350mm) for 14"DD ML coil in air for 1oz coin I got +550mm ( 11" ML coil) & ~450mm for...
