    Twapsters Nullagine Gold 2017

No dramas, in fact in prospecting mode the machine will ping nuggets better that the gold detectors in some conditions but they cant eliminate the noises of ironstone etc so thats why we dumb it down so it only pings on targets close to the coil and doesnt drive u crazy. When gold is sitting so...

    Twapsters Nullagine Gold 2017

Hey Eldorado......6 inch DD coil, machine dumbded down to account for ground mineralisation. A lot of the gold in that spot is right near the surface so any detector can stumble upon a piece. Unfortunately for most its so remote and hot that there are easier places! The exterra is so sensitive...

    Twapsters Nullagine Gold 2017

Hi Guys, been off grid for quite some time so I apologise for not checking in and saying gday. We spent six months straight in a tent and have lots of videos of our adventures, it just takes time to share them but I decided to knock up a vid of our recent camp out in the Nullagine Dessert in...

Why the big deal on Discrimination?

I will add to the debate. Those that say dig everything are usually rookies or OCD.......yep you heard it here folks from the Twapster. We all make mistakes, and sometimes the best finds are mixed in the rubbish heap. But , listen to your detector, and it will most times tell you what you need...

    Clermont Qld information and questions

Of course I will clarify that I have no issue with staying at the CP, I'm sure that's great too. But when I did my research on Clermont it seemed that was the only option. Loads of people staying at the BP, which I thought was just a single overnighter sort of deal.....spoke to one guy who was...

    Clermont Qld information and questions

Sorry for the late reply, 2 ways in, 20 foot vans can make it. Talk to Paul the caretaker I can PM u his number re pets no idea. Why stay at the caravan park when you can sleep on the gold! Works out cheaper.

    Clermont Qld information and questions

I'm currently camping at the lease, and I can vouch its a top location and caretaker Paul has been very helpful. The best part is the lack of junk targets. Everyone's finding gold if they put the time in so that's the other good part.

    2 stroke pump

Yep, got the Thornado and it pumps just enuff- the Honda equivalent is lighter and pumps a bit better but 4 times the price. A 2 stroke will prob be heard in the next suburb. No stealth with that but I do love the smell of a 2 stroke engine! Ive seen the little 1-incher in action on a mini...

    Panning V's Detecting

I think RDD hits it pretty well. I'm with Tath I like both because its a hobby. I originally took it up because I only carried a trout rod and realised a pan and a detector (dads old xterra 70) would give me something else to do if the fish weren't biting. All of a sudden I was forgetting to...

Gold Detecting, Fossicking and Prospecting in NSW. Information and questions.

All my prospecting trips from Sydney to Central West etc are around the 3-4 hrs to get there so that's 100% accurate.

    Minelab SDC2300 or GPX4000 / GPX4500 / GPX5000

Agree for quick and easy to use- the SDC kills it, yes its really the coil size. If the coil was twice the size, id be sold.

    Minelab SDC2300 or GPX4000 / GPX4500 / GPX5000

I'm voting the 4500. I'm sorry but the SDC coil is just too small for WA. My wife found some real tiny ones with the SDC, but I was doing more "power walking" with the 4500. If you are on a patch and going low and slow, the SDC for sure. If you are hunting for a patch, then the 4500 would kill...

A question about discriminating detectors and lead.

My 2 cents as RJ points out too many variables - iron and gold are at the opposite ends, not so with lead and gold. I certainly cant knock discrimination even when people say "don't use it dig everything". While those people are digging up horseshoes id prefer to move on to a real target. Have...

I thought the'd only found a few ounces out that way, and all the gold was dropped by people returning from Terra Australis. Maybe if you like diving for gold!! lol Hope you bag some.

    Pump Fed Sluice

Interesting, i've only ever used a high banker, looks like you are trying to create a river sluice....without the river so to speak? In one of my aquariums at home I have a "waterfall style" filter.......with this in mind its possible that sort of system may work where you can adjust the flow...
