In the creek is a good place to look of course, I would suggest further upstream - but don't rule out feeder gullies or up above the banks.

Few hrs panning & took a small bucket home.

Heaps of whiteish lead shot balls in Shoalhaven. Mercury wont tend to be white, it will be shiny/silver color.

EP9 - Cockatoo Gold Mine

Back on the Shoalhaven again, smashing out some crevices this time.

Typical government only caring about $. What a shame they have to be like this in our 'fine' country :zzz:

Small hard packed crevices always pay off (People overlook them too often!)

Anywhere on the Shoalhaven River downstream from Cooma road crossing is worth a pan. Warri bridge is the closest spot from Canberra. Good luck and most importantly, enjoy yourself :)

I hate to say it... but I bought a cheap, unbranded 14" pan on ebay for $20 (including postage) and it is far lighter then more solid pans such as a super sluice. Held up fine the last 12 months - just don't expect a lifetime of use from it :lol:

I used 6mm marine ply. The sluice is about 7" wide and 2ft long. It is VERY light which is a bonus. Built August 2018 and still together today!
