G'day mate, do a streak test on unglazed porcelain like the underside of a coffee cup; if it is pyrite, the streak is black, if it is chalcopyrite, which looks the goods, it will be dark green, tinged black

I contacted Downies who very quicly replied. They stated that it was a sweetheart 3d from the war and only sentimental value. At least, it was a worthwhile exercise.
Thanks mate, theonly thing I found out, was that £500 was worth $41,000 in today’s money. Even looked up the Royal Mint. might email Downies to see if they know anything.
Found this silver 3d piece in my collection, anyone any ideas?
I think it might have had the reverse scoured out and the inscription engraved in. Also, it looks as though it formed part of a bracelet, or necklace.
G,day mate, I used to live in Glen Innes and the area is a paradise for gem/monerel hunters. Have a look at Torrington and Blatherarm Creek, for topaz, I have 2 x 50 carat crystals that I found in the creek

Well now, my GM1000 is so good, it picks up glass bottles! Does it matter that both bottles have aluminium screw tops?;)
Also, pulled up a .177 lead pellet from 14 cm depth.
