    Trying To Decide Between

Thanks Pete, Mainly wanted to check that one wasn't for gold and the other for treasure like you get in some of the lower detectors. Definitely be hiring before I decide. Now that uni is done for the year I will be going roughly every 2wks for 2-4days at a time. Once uni starts weather turns...

    Trying To Decide Between

If I can get my hands on both, which I will have when I get my new machine as I already have the xterra 705, I will have a tinker, old man is a computer engineer and I have access to electronic engineers as well, be definitely something to explore!

    Trying To Decide Between

This is the problem with asking questions on forums, doesn't help you decide anymore as everyone has pro's and con's for both :D I have got the 4500 for 3 days, think that will really help decide for me. I don't mind digging holes, I often dig iron as I am a author and historian of Australian...

    Trying To Decide Between

I am hiring the 4500 for three days. I basically go for two to three day trips once a fortnight. The hiring also comes with 20min demo to teach how to use the machine. Plug and play is always going to be easier I.e 2300 but I am one that likes accessories lol I.e 4500. See how I go Monday to...

Ill never see parks and beaches the same way again!

I agree with that, was a professional photographer for over 10yrs, changes your perspective. I am a delivery driver part time, so when I see something interesting I write it in my book, the device we use also has gps coordinates so that you can right down street names and gps.

    Is this gold or not?

If you check it with a magnet and it's not magnetic, I wouldn't crush it. Google liquid calcium. Place in Melbourne I used to get it from is out of business. The calcium will eat anything that isn't gold, so at the end if the cup is empty there is no gold :playful: Crushing it turns the gold...

Gold nuggets with Xterra 705 gold pack

Hey, Whilst the 705 isn't the best detector you can get, it does find gold as I have with mine. Sure it probably misses stuff too but if you do your homework and hit the right area to suit that particular detector you can find gold. Unfortunately only had abt 2hrs, but found a piece just over...

5 tips to avoid snake bites

Hey guys, I am new to prospecting but not snakes, have worked with venomous snakes for over 20yrs and whilst there is some great information there, if that's all you follow then you are dead. The most common snake in Victoria for example is the tiger snake, arguably the 4th deadliest snake...
