    Thanks, I don’t think there are to many deposits of poppy jasper in Australia, heaps in the US, and ocean jasper but I think it’s mostly mined out, I found and cut this piece around 2 weeks back, I may put in the monthly comp if it qualifies ?.

    I use either a plated or sintered diamond point at around 15000 rpm in water or with a spray or drip system on the hand piece, hand sand with either diamond or silicon carbide wet. hope this helps, be careful as you may chip the opal, practice on some low grade stone before you try for real.

    This little Ridge opal is for a client in Sydney I have done a few pieces for recently, this one is turning out very good, more a free form with some pattern carved to show the color depth, finding this grade to carve is very hard now.

    Polish resistance emblem ring

    I have a longtime friend of Polish ancestry that asked if I could make this, still needs more work with polishing the silver ring at the top and glueing in the rhodonite and black jade in, the rhodonite is CHOICE GEM, equal to the best I have worked.
