Very pretty colour Wally looks really nice.

I'm pretty much with you Wally to be honest. But everyone who is more experienced than me says I should slice it and hope I get something out of it. Maybe I'll hold it until I find a better specimen and more knowledge and experience. Jay

145 carat Sapphire (bomb) multicolor dug in Reward, Qld. Mostly green with yellow and vibrant blue section.

Thanks Wally, 3 from one hole. The largest and a 140+ carat bomb from a hole very near the original. Was a very productive area, still hoping to find a big cutter.

Little better picture of cut stones. Hard to get lighting etc. Got a few more to cut and a lot more to find!

Matt at old micks gems in rubyvale. Charges $35 a carat (minimum 35 a stone)

Before and after 3 sapphires and a zircon from recent gemfields trip. Was expecting largest to cut a bit bigger but couldn't ignore a flaw in bottom. All round brilliant cuts more pics coming later.

Next time I'll show before and after cleaning, some come out pretty terrible.

Such contrast in the amethyst at Lowmead from super light rose de France to intensely dark. The smallest of these is kinda cool it's like two terminations at each end.

Yeah, more silver there :Y: Found a 1921 thrippy in really nice condition shallow in almost a natural cave type overhang. Wasn't much else and I think I've covered most of the area so yeah pretty few and far between, but still, a bit of silver for the treasure chest haha. Might go back when the...

Finally found my first silver ;) Been prospecting for gems so not much detecting. Planning a roadtrip for next week.

Love your work Lefty. Really nice seeing your Lowmead amethyst as I've been collecting some bits and pieces out there myself, great to see what it can be turned into! Some of the rose-de-France I've found out there is super light in colour like the pic below, does the really light stuff still...

Good advice. Have increased water intake also, been much more inclined to eat healthily too. Slow and steady ;)
