    GPX6000 Faults/Issues

I got a 6 as soon as they became available, one of the first released. The very first thing I did was go over a mullock heap that I know I had gone over with the five thousand, I pulled 12 shot gun pellets out of that meter square, about three to four inches deep! I was left scratching my head...

Minelab Vanquish (340 440 540) tips and questions

I'll have to check out Anaconda, as Mackay does now have one of them. Otherwise it's four hours plus to a minelab dealer. We do have a Garrett dealer and their customer service has been excellent. Matt T

Minelab Vanquish (340 440 540) tips and questions

Why? Easy answer, they do what other entry level detectors dont do, they work on the beach. So where can I get one in Australia? Closest I can see at the moment is to put a holding deposit on one for when the are released in Australia. I think Minelab did the same with the Equinox. Matt T

    Appropriate equipment for task

Sounds like someone forgot where they buried their loot? I'd hire a P.I. detector for a day, starting where you think it lies and grid out from there. Matt T

Whites TDI SL vs Minelab SDC2300 ?

I will back what Karelian65 has said, the sdc is light it folds up so compact and is waterproof. When getting around the tight areas having the knuckle on the edge of the coil instead of the center is also a bonus, getting under bushes and between rocks. You already have a TDI no need to double...

New prospector chasing knowledge in Mackay

Puddlers were the old timers way of breaking down clay. Leave some gravel in amoung your clay and add a little detergent and wash it till there is no clay balls. If you have a rock bottom (bedrock) make sure you clean it. Matt T
