we have plenty of snakes here too, (Tin Can Bay), its a little fishing village with the first major town being 50kms away..and in between a whole heap of bush..so we get plenty of visitors coming around the houses looking for an easy feed..

yep just as mbasko said spray them, aim for the head and you can actually turn them to where you want them to go..it gives you that buffer between you and the snake so keeps you safe..

theres no traps that work and def dont get those noise repellors, ive caught snakes wrapped around them, and dont kill them, its illegal to kill or move any snake, they come under the same laws as all wildlife..im a snake catcher of 19 years and i tell people this, you cant stop snakes coming...

you are bloody lucky but in saying that you found a snake that is well known to be a very reluctant biter...a lot of people never get to see a death adder as they are brilliant at hiding as it showed..its one of the snakes that when i handle they hardley ever strike out and are quite placid..
