    My 705 just broke++Tragedy

    I did see something on ebay that might be a solution or at least help somewhat: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/293706262593?hash=item446241e841:g:LfIAAOSwwY9fO~a8 as for the acetone - it would be good to know what the coilmaterial is and then find out if acetone would actually dissolve it. If it...

    Mapping Program?

    And I would really recomend to check out SAS planet - that is the ultimate platform for maps and once you have seen something on a map, the images are stored on you windows pc or laptop - that means you have them offline! It is easy to automatic save maps in the wanted resolution(s) to your pc -...

    My 705 just broke++Tragedy

    If you try to repair the plastic, it might be an option to use acetone - I have repaired some plastic parts: if that plastics is soluble in acetone you can use that like a glue. I do not know the material of the black coil plastic used - but here is a link to a table that shows what will not...

    Advice on GPS units

    Well, a GPS for the road would be something, or should be something different from the 64S that I suggested because I use it while detecting. As a backup in the bush I use my phone - and navigating with your phone while driving is almost if not easier than with a Hema or so.

    Lesgold's videos

    With the WM-12 and the GPZ 7000 - the technology (at least on paper) uses the same frequency range but different data packages, which they (could) claim gives near to no delay. I do not notice time-lag with the WM-12 - but do walk rather slow (once I find something, almost slowmotion) Here is...

    Hi from Tassie

    H Matt, I am not new to the forum - but did read more than write... To write posts with links etc. you have to have 10 posts or more, but that is not why I write here - or maybe yes... A forum needs active contributors and right now I have time to responde to some questions and thereby reaching...

    GPZ7000 Coils

    Well, the 19 inch is very much worth it - it is surprisingly good with rather small nugets - but is so very heavy, that it obviously could have been designed lighter - like not as a solid big closed coil filled with foam. The now available aftermarket coils - and that is not only the...

    Boosters and Headphones for SDC2300

    Hi Crocket, the Pro-Sonic will firstly give you a cordless option, like the 7000 and 6000 do already offer and that universal and not only on Minelab detectors - but those are different technologies. The WM-12 technology as discrebed in a other forum by Steve Hersbach: (and it seems the...

    GPZ7000 Coils

    Well, it is wateerproof but only the coil and the cable - not the detector itself - you could go deper if you extend the cable but how long are your arms? It is for the occasional edge or gully where you can easily detect - for underwater minelab has other detectors

    Which Minelab Detector For What Purpose?

    Hi Hounddog, it is also important to actually get hold of the different detectors, as weight might be an issue as well. I do not mind the weight of my GPZ 7000 but compare it to the GPX 6000 For coins and relics compare the CTX 3030 with the Equinox 800 - big differences. I myself did not want...

    New to prospecting

    it all comes down to the time you spend with the coil over the ground and it never hurts to understand all the settings and options - I wish you luck!

    Brand New To Prospecting

    Hi Andrew, I am not new to detecting and not to prospecting (anymore) - it is very simple: you might have the best equipment, but it is the right ground you have to on to find something. Depending on your area things may be slightly different but what all areas have in common is, that you can...

    GPZ7000 release, questions and information

    You have to find your settings and it is helpfull, that these are not lost when you turn of the detector - but at startup you should run "Quick Start" to "Noise Cancel" - but between "Quick start" and "Noise Cancel" you can also choose to keep your settings. Going through the few things after...

    Question about carrying a pick on you belt?

    I started with a loop and soon noticed that it rattles, leaves everything banging against your leg and the longer the handle, the more it will not stay in that loop and make you want a 45 degree leather pick holder...

    Advice on GPS units

    I have always prefered devices that have real buttons instead of a touchscreen, as it is more reliable in bad weather like rain or when its cold - I like my Garmin GPSMAP 64S

    You need a USB Type A to USB Type B mini cable - USB Type A being the one that fits most chargers or is the one you use to connect things with your PC or notebook and the USB Type B mini that connects to the bottom of the SP1
