Snake gators / gaiters

Hi guys just after any recommendations for metal free snake gators, about to buy a pair and happy to pay for quality. Any that are better than others that members can vouch for. A lot of the places I visit are in thick grass/scrub and with the recent death in the Lockyer valley it sort of sinks home a bit although he was relocating the snake. I’ve probably seen 4 browns this summer whilst driving to work and a few red bellies so they are about. Cheers

Cut the base off an old pair of gumboots if you're short of funds, easily acquired at most OP Shops if sizes are available. Slip on the gumboots with the base cut off then put on your preferred footwear and slide the gumboots down over the top

Go to any of the reputable hiking/camping stores (paddy pallin, snowys, etc) and you’ll find a wide array of gaitors available. There are short ankle-gaitors available that are metal free, but all of my knee-length ones do have some small metal parts, so you’ll need to look at what’s available.
