I think our wonderful country is now so heavily burdened with regulations that it is well nigh impossible to do anything without having some restrictions. I guess if I was a bureaucratic regulator I would feel it was my duty to impose more.. If this nonsense continues we are down the gurgler I feel. The changes for the worse that I have seen in my life (now 77) are innumerable. It is not hard to understand why land prices went through the roof. In the good old days a developer could subdivide and register the blocks, sell them off and that was it. Councils would do the kerb and channeling and bitumen the roads when their rate income could afford it. All those expenses plus the other ridiculous rigmaroles are now put on the developers up front. No wonder the young folk are finding it hard to get a start. Grumble of the day...

I'd like to make a whinge about businesses that insist that every time you buy something or have something to do with them they ask you to complete a survey.
Recently had a package delivered by Australia post.
Had three emails from them, one to say it's coming soon, another to say it's coming today and then another saying your package has been delivered.
Today I get another from them asking "how did we do with your recent delivery"?
For goodness sakes the postie put it in the letter box as he should. Don't ask me how he did that maybe with a backhand flourish I'm not sure.
Bit grumpy today.

More of an issue is that they ignore your reply - just going through the motions. It is not irrelevant when a postie throws a parcel 2 m to land on your doorstep, or does not ring the doorbell but leaves it to lie in pouring rain. Or leaves a note to say unless you raise your letterbox they will dump letters on the ground - and do so the next day (letterbox met Australia Post minimum height). Good intentions with the survey, but no follow-up.
Another painting has been targeted by Oil protestors, this time in the WA Art Gallery and it was one of my alltime favourite paintings McCubbins “ Down on his luck”. Noting that one of the activists was a First Nations man, I would suggest that if these individuals continue to damage, display total disrespect for white Australian culture, your Voice proposal may end up with the other trash. One of my favourites too, but it is undamaged. It had Perspex covering the actual painting, which is why they said they chose it. The argument is a tricky one, I don't think k BHP showed a lot of respect for theirs either (they said it related to the damage at the iron ore mine, not oil). Pity people cannot just reason these things out. The indigenous group at the site have done so with BHP, as I understand. Not keen on seeing it as "them" versus "us", more idiots versus reasonable people is my opinion.

We are very fortunate that our mail contractor for our small rural hamlet is just about the most helpful person on earth. Nothing is too much trouble for her. Like others i do get a bit tired of the surveys but I take advantage of them to give our postie the best possible report. A real pity there are some posties that are not up to scratch. They need the boot I think.
Personally I find it akin to a small child that has never been told no? Wants everything it see's an throws a hissy fit and pouts when it doesn't get it. Becomes a little hazy when equality is preached but entitlement over others is claimed?
The child also needs to learn that the easiest way to gain respect is to show it to others and two wrongs a right does not make? My mum taught me that at about the age of five

Over a year ago Shine Lawyers contacted me regards stolen generation class action. Contacted birth deaths and marriages and applied for all paperwork. Received paper work after six months of to and froing which included my TWO birth certificates in TWO different names. As all this was new news to me I asked for further clarification? Months passed before more paperwork arrived with more of the pages being blanked out than what were intact 
Queried again to be informed that the information blanked out was not relevant to me ? Not sure just who it is relevant to or which one of me it pertains to or in fact what become of the other me that was born according the the records??
So to sum up I didn't learn much from paperwork obtained, even given it did state I was a bastard child. But I knew that as my mates have all told me that for many years As for the 82K that is apparently due me it will be promptly passed on to Ronald McDonald house.
I guess another big plus is I can now cross the Jardine River at a fraction of the previous cost The moral of this story being that the government can do anything they wish as it suits the situation to do so.

I just saw on the telly something, didn't take much notice, of a copper smashing a car window trying to get a woman out whom had two arrest warrants against her but she claimed they had no jurisdiction as she was a "Sovereign Citizen". Stupid is as Stupid does, Sir.

Varies, but for example it is unchanged by the government of NSW although there will be events to make it more inclusive of indigenous people, Some companies are varying it....

Not Celebrating another day, just giving those that don’t want to celebrate the opportunity of going to work and taking another day instead. I would also suggest this for those that don’t believe in Easter and Christmas. Go to work and take other times. It is largely a function of remoteness (with its lesser jobs) and educational level.
I can think of an additional factor, which is median age. "The median age for Aboriginal people, currently 23, is projected to reach 25 by 2026. But this remains much younger than the median age in the general population, which is currently 38 and is expected to rise above 40 by 2026." So the percentage of aboriginals of working age is much smaller than the percentage of non-indigenous people. This will also skew the statistics.
"The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population shows a young population with approximately 42 percent under working age and less than 50 percent of working age (aged 20-59) compared with an older profile in the non-Indigenous population with approximately 26 percent under working age and over 56 percent of working age (aged 20-59)" So 12% more non-indigenous people will be employed for this reason alone. So applying this correction would make it 72% of aborigines of working age are working in cities, compared with 76% of non-indigenous of working age.
It is easy to make simplistic but inaccurate assumptions.
