I'm road tripping with my partner and she has granted me a few days of fossicking, my plan was to check out Porters Retreat(Little River) but I am looking for a backup option. I don't have a 4WD (foresterso my options are limited.

If anyone has a suggestion for a few days of camping between Orange and Wollongong that allows panning/metal detecting for gold/gems.

It may be a bit far off the track for you and no idea how many people will be camped there but have a look at a little place called Tuena, south of Bathurst for gold panning. About 90k south of Bathurst
