Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh Glenwood the financial provider for Hervey Bay 😂 You won't have much luck I'm afraid unless you can get permission from a land owner. The owner of Gootchie Road Quarry has some interesting land on right hand side half way to Tiaro but you would and i stress must get permission. Kilkivan way they will almost shoot you on site (read most unfriendly) There is Deep Creek GPA in Gympie but as it's a nature reserve also the council use general street mulch around plants so it is literally covered in pieces of silver paper and foil wrapping debris which makes for a busy but useless day. The old original Gympie goldfields are now mostly built on, you can check old maps for this ? Other than that closest would be Monto area in the old Monal gold fields, from there would be Clermont but I never had much luck in Clermont and also named it the most unfriendly town in Qld 🤣
Hope this helps but in short your probably going to have to travel I'm afraid.

I've spent countless hours, Hundreds of driving hours and thousands of dollars looking for a place to prospect in the area. Gave up after 5 years of searching. I'm sure there are places if you don't mind risking getting busted by Authorities or Land Owners and the prosecutions to follow. Unless your living close to Warwick or Clermont, your gunna have a hard time.

Clermont, went there the week they opened the new GPA's a few years ago. They were full of old dig holes. The yokels have hammered all areas out there regardless of status.

Gympie GPA is a joke and an insult in the same breath.

Warwick, damn near every square inch has been heavily raked.

Queensland sucks if you want to try prospecting
