Some great tips at the end. He's right about wearing a gun, both it and the 7 heard my Glock if on my belt, I ended up having to carry it strapped to my harness.... no I'm not stoned, it was the end of a very long day. ;)

I haven't watched the video yet, but I will.
I took my 6000 out today to clean a patch I had worked over with my 7000 and 12" NFZ.
Got 1 little nugget before the emi picked up.
I have never used a machine so badly effected by emi before.
Seriously, after the walk in, I am pissed off that the machine was useless after about 1 hour of detecting.
If it's the same with the DD, I will be selling my 6K. Maybe have a look at an axiom from garret. The 6k was impossible to use.
When I 1st found the patch, I was using my zed. My mate was using a 6k and complaining about emi, I had no problems at all with the zed, maybe an occasional spike, but my mate said it was constant. When it started today, it was constant. It was an $8,000 skwark box!!!!!

I have a sig P320 btw Jenny, however our laws prohibit us from taking any firearm when prospecting here in the NT. Even at our base camp, which is a stupid law. I have wild dogs, dingos, pigs, an occasional buffalo and Saltwater crocs, no mountain lions or bears though, thank God!

Was running fine for a while. I was in manual, as low sensitivity as it would allow in the end, did about 5 zigzag button things and ground balances, turned off and on twice, gave up in the end. I hate the thing atm. Was good for about 2 out of 3 hours, the walk in it worked well, very steady. Found a little nugget no worries, it was after that when the wind picked up and the sun was directly over head that it turned into an unusable piece of crap.

Was a thunderstorm off the tiwi islands today, maybe 80kmaway..
Put it this way, I couldn't pick my test piece through the emi, 1 gram bit.

Yup, been there, done that... was a different world back when I obtained my QLD permit (pre Tasmania 1996 gun grab).
