Don't think it will matter.
If they were similar products it would be a problem, but Mars camper trailers don't seem to be sued by Mars bars, dove chocolate, dove soap, quantum fishing reels and God knows how many other quantum out there etc etc

I think there was a band called Axiom to. I watched the vid and if it in a reasonable price bracket for the punter, say $3-4K then that would be a good deal. However, if it was a $6-9K why bother. Just my opinion.
I said to CEO one day that you are far better off having 10 customers that spend $100,000 each than 1 customer spending a Million. Mackka

Word in the US is $4000-4500USD.
That would put it at around ~$6000 here at least.
Looks a nice detector but after reading the manual I'm not sure it will do any better here than it's predecessors. The Tibooburra video is very inconclusive & in reality showed very little.
Yeah mate i agree with you on all counts especially the vid. To me, and let me state here, i have never been to Tib and never will, but, if i was going to show a new tector doing what the others can’t, well it would be, from all accounts a great place to prove its worth. 50 pieces of shot and two tiny pieces that I could have found with other less expensive machines, didn’t sell it to me.

I like the battery life, and the ability to use a power bank, but you can charge the minelabs from a power bank to. I have one of thekings jump starter packs, and I'm sure I can charge from that if I had to.

Not only has the Axiom got twice the inbuilt battery life of the 6000 (16 hours vs 8 hours!), but it can actually run from any pocketable USB power bank: both of those features would be big improvements in the field. An emergency lithium jump starter can also keep your detector going.

But is twice the battery life worth the extra? I would hope someone like Nenad can get hold of a tester and give it a run and no offence to NQ Detectors. Mackka

I'll explain why a bit better.
A lot on another forum have been comparing the timings of the Minelab GPX5000 to the Axiom.
Even suggesting Garrett may be using lapsed patents. I don't think that's correct apart from the similar naming of the Axiom timings/modes they appear to me to be different altogether, especially as far as ground handling goes.

Axiom fine gold is reading like it's for smaller/shallow gold up to larger gold (similar in that respect to GPX5000 fine gold) but it stated it doesn't handle mineralisation as well as the Axiom Normal or Large modes. As you go up the modes to Normal & Large it suggests a loss in sensitivity to small targets (gold) but ground handling improves as does mid/large target detection.

The Minelab GPX series (4000/4500/5000) has a somewhat opposite effect. The smooth class timings (Sens Smooth, Enhance, Fine Gold) are all suited to high mineralisation while maintaining good sensitivity. Depth in some of the smooth timings can be the trade off but GPX Fine Gold can still punch deep in these highly mineralised areas too.
As you go into other GPX timings like Normal & Sharp they become less suited to high mineralisation (unusable in many cases with mono coils) but in milder areas can maintain some reasonable sensitivity but generally they have better depth over the smooth class timings on bigger/deeper gold.

To me (uneducated opinion only) the Axiom rather than employing complex new timings, or mirror Minelabs, has merged some good things from the ATX & Whites TDI together into a pretty good new package.
The timings more remind me of the Whites TDI pulse delay in combination with the conductivity setting though.
Fine Gold = Low - enhances low conductivity targets (small, specimen gold) & can subsequently enhance ground signals in high mineralisation. Pulse delay likely in low range (~10us).
Normal = Med - more enhances mid conductivity targets with some loss on low conductivity targets, especially very small gold, & can lessen any ground signal.
Pulse delay likely in low to med range (up to ~15us).
Large = High - enhances high conductivity targets (large) with loss of low + med conductivity target sensitivity & reduced susceptibility to ground mineralisation.
Pulse delay likely in med to high range (up to ~20us).
Salt possibly set in a Normal to Large type mode with a high pulse delay of ~25us very likely, used to counter salt water.

Of course I'm only speculating above but that's how the modes are reading to me in the manual.
Doesn't really appear to be much new as such, just a simplified or auto/preset digital version of old settings merged into these new modes?

The video didn't sell me.
At the start trying to tune in to the quietest frequency, it didn't shut up then cut to next scene??? before it finished.
Rest of the vid was headphones so who knows how loud, chattery is was?

C’mon guys, it’s early days and as Steve H said, he will be doing explanations on all the settings and functions in coming videos.
Personally, I like the look of it and it appears to be have that robust build quality to it.
If it is well balanced and easy to swing then it will have some support... the only killer is the low $Aus. right now.
$US price is around $4500.
