Thanks for reply bloke, sadly the no side b side and quads just about kills it for myself. Looked into the conditional rego and even just limited access type involves a lot of hoops to jump thru unfortunately. Cheers

Mate, it's. sadly, the way of the world right now?!
Please feel free to call any other PtD property and ask if they allow quads and SbS's.
If they do, I'm sure @Ben-GoldDiggers would like to know how they satisfy liabilities such as injury or death.

Side x sides are 100% fine as above. Just quads are going

Concessional rego for prospecting. Easy as pie in qld

https://www.qld.gov.au/transport/registration/fees/concession/other-concessions

Vehicles used by bona fide prospectors (not miners)

This concession is available for vehicles based in Queensland that are used solely for carrying on the business of prospecting. They must operate solely in those areas listed under schedule 6 of the Transport Operations (Road Use Management—Vehicle Registration) Regulation 2021. These vehicles cannot be easily converted into ordinary goods vehicles.

How to apply

Complete the registration concession application (F3630) and take it to your nearest transport and motoring customer service centre or, if you live in a rural area, a QGAP office, Magistrates Court or local police stationthat provides vehicle registration services—please call to confirm before visiting.

Simmo not questioning Bens reason in any way shape or form regards quads nor do i think I conveyed that ?, I also understand better than most the reasons why. Have had two quad roll overs in past week at current station., I even get to fix them. Laws must always be made to cater for the lowest common denominator ...................... it is what it is.

G'day Ben I've been on the rd for over 10 years with my wife, I prospect & she doesn't and only touches a detector if I left it in her way. With your fee structure would I really have to pay full prospecting rate for her?
Other stations I've been to usually charge from zero to $5pn for her to be be somewhere she doesn't really want to be for several weeks/months at a time
Cheers

I understand that frustration. The problem with it is that part of that charge covers insurance, all the infrastructure which gets used and a portion also goes back to the traditional owners. That’s why we have put on the $250 a week rate for a couple/family. Normally for 2 people at $25 a night it $350, with the couple rate it’s $250

There is pay to prospect at Georgetown but nothing else around us. palmervillegold.com.au is the place to book

Getting there. The turnoff is 17kms south of the Palmer roadhouse at whites creek Rd. From there it’s 42kms on dirt to the campsite turnoff. All very easy to do. Probably 6 very shallow easy rocky creek crossings. We have 2 wheel drive vechiles come in most of the time.
G'day Ben, I'm towing a caravan with a triton 4x4 and was wondering if a normal semi off road van with average ground clearance will make it in to the camp grounds?

Hi ben is there any water we can run a river sluice in next month or is it better to just run detectors at the moment.
