Have you ever eaten a habanero chilli?

So I was doing a fair bit of gardening over summer, It was cranking well and producing plenty of fruit and vegetables. I enjoy walking around and eating fresh produce from my garden.
Now I'm not much of a fan of spicy food but I came up with a brilliant idea of eating one of these chillis I grew. Turns out habaneros are HOT!!!! hahahaha

Were you doing as a dare or just..........trying to be Evel Knieval, glad you did it.
No dare, I just try new things. I mentioned that scotch bonnets will be eaten in the future and also the carolina reaper so that will be interesting. Good thing is I don't mind spicy food now. I took one of those out bush and zach chucked it in a stew and it was lovely!

My habaneros just give me a garden of leaves without so much as a bud of fruit - the adjacent jalapenos 10 cm way in the next plot are groaning under the weight of fruit. What am I doing wrong?

Currently have a garden full of Purple cayenne, white Fatali, and a party favourite, a Chocolate Carolina Reaper!

Yes we have tried the Reaper (hottest chilli in the world) and it is a different game to any other chilli I have ever eaten. You will discover pain centres and emotions you never knew you had 🤣🤣🤣
I love the lemon fatalli. Makes awesome jam for salads etc.

I feel your pain. Tastes good but gives you trouble breathing. I just keep milk and a bread roll nearby - I never find things like water or beer quench anything. (except the memory of pain with enough beer).

Beer makes it 10x worse for me, a litre of milk on standby is always a good idea when experimenting. :)Yogurt too is meant to work the best apparently.

Could always try good old Seasol to see if that helps. Plus, most chillies don't like to fruit in the cooler months, but 'should' with full sun depending on where you are 🤞🤞

I suspect that must be true of habaneros - just surprised that jalapenos thrived under the same conditions. And yes, well fertilized (both the same)
