GPX 6000 using the 14DD in cancel question

Hi, I always found the SDC to be excellent on specimen gold in quartz- until EMI levels changed for some reason and it became no longer usable!
GPZ 7000 is also not usable due to EMI. The 5000 is usable in cancel or with an AI coil, but it just doesn't seem to be anywhere near as good as the SDC
was for that type of gold. Anyone know why?
Now the 6000 might be an option (I don't have one). They reckon it does well on specimen gold, and can be used with a 14" DD in cancel.
But how does it perform on specimen gold in cancel mode?

Good question 22shells & one I'd like to get some info especially from someone using the 14DD.
From all reports it's very sensitive for a DD coil so I don't see why it wouldn't pick up the speccis.
I'm yet to use it but after checking out a spot (dark red, saturated clay) that had me digging multiple phantoms with the 11" mono I'm going to chuck it on if I can get back out there next week. Persevered with the mono because we were still getting a few bits.
Biggest issue will be the creek if it keeps rising. Might need a boat to get there

Thanks mbasko, would be interesting to see how it goes on speccies in cancel- I can't find any info on that.
Hopefully better than the 5000. What I really need is something that performs like an SDC but in cancel mode.
Maybe the 6000 could do it, or maybe what I'm looking for doesn't exist yet.
Forgot to mention I also tried a Gold Monster thinking that could be the answer, but it struggled with the
ground mineralization.

I just got a call from Glenn01 , he was detecting directly under powerlines with the 14"DD with no problems at all, very stable.

Yes it works really well on specimen gold with 14 DD in cancel, although I do run 1st block sensitivity. I don't know if it will be suitable for your area if using higher levels of sensitivity. Maybe find a great mate that will lend you his 6k for the day to try before buying one.

Thanks, that's good to hear. I can get the 5000 to run quiet but then it's not sensitive like the SDC is.
Will have to try a 6000 on some test pieces and see how it goes.

It depends on your settings and the coil on the end of the 5000 (12x8, 14x9 or 12 evolution)
Then it just comes down to your hearing to hear the the slight difference/change in threshold.

I've got a fair few coils to choose from for the 5000 including 17x13 and 14x9 evos. Great coils and monos are my preferred choice for general detecting.
But they won't work in high EMI, so my only options currently are the stock 11" DD in cancel or a Coiltek 14" AI.
The Coiltek 14" AI gives good depth on bigger targets like .22 projectiles, but I feel lacks a bit of sensitivity to smaller targets.
I found a 2 grammer with this coil. Thinking of maybe trying an 11" AI coil, might be more sensitive than the 14?

Very High EMI & under power lines with the 5000 try
DD coil set in MONO, CANCEL, INVERT SIGNAL, RX GAIN HIGH AS POSSIBLE
you'll be able to walk under big power lines (don't expect much depth)

The GPX6000 doesn't have a Cancel mode like the GPX4500 or GPX5000. It can be switched to difficult but the detecting strength is similar regardless of the mode you're in.

Not 100% correct.
With the 14" DD coil attached select either EMI cancel or Conductive Ground cancel.
With the GPX 4500 & 5000 you can manually select cancel with a mono coil but it won't detect anything. It's only really of any use with a DD coil too.
From reports the 6000 cancel modes + DD are far more sensitive than previous - in saying that I'm still yet to try it out myself.

Yes, for detecting in EMI areas and under powerlines, the 6000 with 14" DD is the most sensitive option on the market. 5000 can't match the 2300 and 7000 on fine specimens regardless of coil - it's just a limitation of the PI technology and timings that are in there. And SDC and 7000 both don't have any Cancel options, whether in coils or switching.

Also had a crack right under power lines with the 14" DD went very well 2 very small .05 and .07 nuggets and detecting in the creek with 4" of water and down deep in clay got a nice ironstone specie photo in Get down and dirty prospecting Face book page

Another Glenno11! With a 6k....this might get confusing!?
