Hi Gpgold,
There are a few people from the forum who live on the Coast. There is heaps of good info on here, I am still reading through a lot of it.

I had a look at some of the online stores and they all seem to be sold out, well at least the ones I looked at. I think I left my run a tad late and will have to wait for more stock to hit the shelfs. I know there was a lot of hype about them and I am guessing when they finally released it...
My last one is a plastic frame, which I have on a old LAN125 pack. I think the brand is SORD, but there would be other brands that might be cheaper. You could also look around for a 2nd hand one.
Hi Scott,
My young fella got a GoFind20 from Santa, and we are on the Central Coast. He went out the other day to Terrigal lagoon and they (wife and daughter) found a $2 , $1 and a silver coloured junk ring. They seemed to think that the area around the car parks were better??? Bit having said...
Well just a quick update, Santa delivered a GoFind20.
Seems like a good size for him. Bit worry he will bash it around and break it. He managed in the first few hours to pop the red button out which locks the handle. I found the spring and put it back in and has been fine since.
First trip was...
My young bloke is getting a Go Find 20 from Santa. Once that happens I think we will be hitting the beach with him. Also the local beaches get packed over summer with tourists.
What part of the coast are you on?
Hi ET Digger,
There are a few from the coast on here, and there was talk for a meet up at some stage (not sure of the progress). I can't help much as I am new to it all, but I will watch your post with keen interest. Have you just moved to the coast or coming up for holidays?
Tim
Reynard, thanks but as its going to be from santa i will buy new.
Goldpick, i like the look of that one. Price is a bit more then i would like to spend
Thanks everyone for the advice. I know most kids lose interest in things pretty quick, especially these days. I didn't think of moving the control box to make it lighter on his arm. I think I might keep an eye out for the GoFind series, I know they may not be the best detector, but they look...
My young fella keeps saying he wants a detector, he know says he will get one from Santa. I have been looking at the GoFind and Ace series. He is only 6 and is rather short. Should I get a toy detector for him which are much smaller and made for kids or try to get him into a better one? I don't...
It is amazing where things end up. You don't need to be near a military range to come across range produce/ordnance etc. A few years back I came across a trip flare on the edge of a lake in a suburb, the nearest military base is over an hour away. So I would not assume that because you are not...
I have done a bit of reading on the SDC2300 and they sound great, especially for the beginner (ie myself). I just need to justify it to the other half, lol.
