Thank you all for the replies. I have not been able to get out much, I have a few things I may put up. Its the weather....absolutely atrocious in my neck of the woods. I went out the other day between storms but the water been blown back off the oval sent me scurrying back to the warm lounge...

    Digging in public parks

MMmm, well I did two parks today. I have my own rules.... I never detect in the "working part" of the oval. That means I only detect edges and where supporters watch from. I never make a show of detecting. I never cut a plug right out, I cut 3 sides only. I defy anybody to find my holes. I...

Hi, because of the oval shaped hole i am inclined to think it may be a press stud type thingy. Levi Strauss Jeans also had a type of button like this, the black ones were very rare. Sorry, thats the best I can do. Thomas

    I Found a.. Roman soldier.....and his elephant

Hi, well when I first found him I thought it was a little bit of junk, but after a bit of a clean up, he is Lead, and looks like maybe a Roman warrior, don't know. His Elephant was not far away, its just something interesting. Thomas

    Is this Jewelry ??

Hi, this mornings hunt, just before we crossed the border back into Vic, produced this little thingy. It was about 4" deep. At first I thought it was just a s/s split pin but on closer examination later I have.... no idea. I will first apologize for my pic's, I am using my underwater camera...

    This mornings hunt

Hey thanks for that..... yep, there is a lot more to the story but believe it or not it is still going so I cant say too much. I can say that devastating is an understatement, I can also say that over 100 million dollars was involved so we were lucky. But we (at the time) lived for 30 years in...

Haaa Haaaa hah....... Oh sorry. You obviously were not an avid coin and note collector as I was. You obviously did not lose over $400,000 when the "Rare Coin Co" went down the tube. So I NEED all the spendables I can get. Ha ha....Thanks for the replies guys. Cheers.....Thomas

    This mornings hunt

Oh Wow, that worked, so I have learnt something today. One of the 50c had a close call with the mower, I don't know if it is spendable. The medallion is not old, it is celebrating 100yrs since the 1st World war from 2014 to 2018. I find my new hobby to be quite satisfying, If not as rewarding...
