Hi
Due to design of the GPZ and WM12 module, it is not possible to have the sP01 connected to the WM12 and have sound come out of the WM 12 module. You would need to connect external speakers into the sP01

Hey All
The sP02 is a straight amplifier designed to run speakers. It does run a higher gain than the sP01 and so isnt really suited for headphones.
It has no enhancement features. The subtle changes in threshold that you get when using the sP01 with headphones, would be lost when using a...
Hey Guys.
Thanks for all your kind words. Its very appreciated.
Made it to QLD yesterday. Was a mad panic to get container loaded in 2 days before total lockdown.
I found it extremely frustrating not being able to lift heavy stuff myself although I think I did push the limits a little.
Did...
Hey all
Just a short post to explain why I wont be at the gold expo and why there may be a few delays in the future.
So as some will know, I am moving from Vic to Qld. This means moving all my machinery. On Friday I was loading a metal lathe into a shipping container and it decided it wanted a...
Yes. The logitech only requires a line level input to drive it where as the sP02 puts out a high level capable of driving speakers.
It will be good if you can bring your QED. I will be interested to see if the QED will drive the sP02 to its full potential.

No its to do with how the headphone sockets are wired compared to that of the Minelab machines. Its not a huge issue. I can send the appropriate input cable on request.

Yes it will work on the Whites machine and provide similar benefits to what it does with the Minelab machines. I think it does require a different input cable though as do the Garrett and QED machines.

I'll have a demo sP02 at the Expo but I dont have a QED. Hopefully someone will bring one along.
It wont be suitable to use with the Logitech speaker as it will overdrive the Logitech input. It will be ideally suited to run a dual speaker system.
No I turn everything on and then make adjustments. To be honest most of my other settings are pretty much standard - I've highlighted the ones I change.

Ok here's my take.
Running the stabiliser within 2 -3 of RX gain is a myth that who knows where it came from. If you stick with this mantra, then you are not getting the best out of your machine.
I always used to run the stabilser high on the dial (its counter intuitive as the higher the...
Yep thats all correct. The QED only has line level output which doesnt drive any enhancer/booster designed for detectors to its full potential. Nearly all other detectors have headphone level output.
The new model I am bringing out is not a sP01 replacement. It will be a slightly lower cost...
It can take up to 4 hrs to charge. The battery never goes completely flat if left on as the regulator circuit turns off when battery drops to a certain level.
Leave it on overnight and if its not charged (blue light) in the morning, let me know and we'll get it sorted for you.

It will be the amp in the battery. Very common issue. I actually sell the kits to repair them ( https://www.steelphase.com.au/index.php/front-page/spare-parts/gpx-battery-audio-repair-kit ) or you can send it to me and I can fix it for you ( https://www.steelphase.com.au/index.php/blog/services...
The title of the post is about a GPX so I assume he also has a VLF machine as well as the GPX. VLF machines already have discrimination and the audio coming out is post processing and often has already been processed to indicate target composition.
The pulse waveforms Woody shows are not whats...
