Minelab GPX5000 tips, settings and questions

Thanks Condor22 and Moneybox. You guys were either up late or are in WA! Whichever it is, I thank you both for your responses. Sorry that your computer crashed Moneybox. Ded Driver's suggestion sounds like a good option! I have been operating on Special - Fine Gold so think I will change that to...

Minelab GPX5000 tips, settings and questions

Am nodding as I read your response Stevewilko. Makes a lot of sense. I am being very patient and using each day out as a training session. Its time and experience. Cant rush either. Learning heaps from those of you who have been there and done that. Thankyou.

Never done anything like this before

Hi Noodles. Welcome to PA. Firstly can I just say that if you are planning to invest in gold, you might like to buy shares! If you are interested in the great outdoors and coming across the occasional bit of colour, then keep on course with prospecting. If you want a fully submersible detector...

Minelab GPX5000 tips, settings and questions

Thanks for your response RM. I have not had the same problem on mullock heaps. Its just when I have been working across a slope. I am sure its all about experience and getting used to the GPX. As you say, a completely different proposition to the SDC. I am going to do a one day training session...

Minelab GPX5000 tips, settings and questions

Hi there. I have recently purchased a GPX5000 (have used an SDC 2300 for the past 2 years) and now been out a couple of times starting to learn how it works. One thing frustrating me is the number of false signals I am getting. The ground I have been working has been quite wet (GT area) and I am...

    Aftermarket Batteries For GPX

Thanks again Jim. I hadnt thought about the amplifier , but as you say, the pro sonic should cover that. I use the pro sonic with the sdc2300 and its a great combination. I am usually out for more than 4 hours at a time so sounds like I will need to invest in 2 batteries and the charger...

    Aftermarket Batteries For GPX

Thanks for the quick response Jim. Being of the female kind, I find the GPX battery a bit heavy, particularly as I want to attach it to the detector and not be connected to it. The detectormods looks interesting and I appreciate your experienced comments. cheers Wendy

    Aftermarket Batteries For GPX

Hi there. I have been running an SDC2300 for the past 2 years and just purchased a GPX5000. I find the battery heavy and have been looking for an alternative. Minelab are no longer making the small lithium ion battery and I am wondering if anyone has experience with the Detectormods battery? My...
