I've had coilteks and the minelab 11 inch dd do this. My friend has also had this happen to his coiltek elites. They are all stored in dark rooms. Coiltek replaced his coils. Between going bump sensative and coil sheath crumbling I wont touch them. My one and only nugget finder has been perfect...

Have had 3 coiltech coils, none were the latest elite models but all went bump sensative and the sheath on the cable crumbled off. Have had a nugget finder evo 17x13 for a few years and worked it hard and it's as good as the day I bought it. I bought it second hand. My advice, spend the extra money.

Today I made a lithium battery tray and solar charge set up.in my camping trailer.

Thought I'd introduce myself. I live near Cairns nth qld. Spend a few weeks holidays a year detecting around the Georgetown area (gpx5000). My partner comes as well but does not detect, just enjoys the outdoors. Have found enough gold over the years to keep interested but still lots to learn I feel.

After 2 failed goldstalker series coiltek coils I just just couldn't go back there. NF coils for me from now on. Had a NF evolution for a long time now and never an issue.

I bought a new one late last year and it came with both spoked and closed skid plates. The closed skid plate is quite drummy. I preferred the spokes one.

Same for me. It was my dad that got me into it. He bought an sd2000 when they came out. If only he could see how smooth these new detectors run in comparison.
