    Interesting finds

Hi Goldpick Further about the "jeweller" it was not a 'jeweller' as such but the head sales assistant of a jewellery retail store who couldn't confirm and advised me to get further confirmation. She also viewed the area where the gold mark is supposed to be and could not confirm, as no mark...

    Interesting finds

Hi Goldpick I cannot find any hallmarks on either end of this chain. As said before there is no clasp. The reading on my Gold Bug Pro is 64 - 65 the same as my wifes gold rings. I took it to the local jeweller who also couldn't confirm the material. I am going to Sydney (city) later in the week...

    Interesting finds

Hi Paulmarr, Sa_bogan and Sandta Thanks for the comments There is no clasp on this chain , possibly the reason it was lost. Its too heavy for aluminium and is not attracted to a magnet Originally I thought it might be just steel plated gold. Will get it checked out Cheers Misty

    Interesting finds

Sunday 19 Oct finds at the local river beach A few coins and 2 ear studs The sparkly one probably a Zircon but the knotted design certainly feels heavy enough to be silver and a couple of junk bangles The little coil Gold Bug pro starting to sing for me now Cheers Misty

    Interesting finds

Hi Jaros Thanks for your comment Ringing the owner seems the right thing to do. The reason people put tags on their dogs collars with phone numbers is if the dog has strayed and got lost I found another one about 4 months ago and the owner was stoked to get it back. Hi Ramjet yeah 3...

    ⭐ Gold Detecting Show'n Tell

Thanks for the kind words TTKooAu and Metamorphic Headsup I know we can use dredges over there on private claims I am not sure on large trommel type recovery We certainly wont be able to use a trommel in our creek its too steep but a small portable dredge would be in the rock pools below...
