    ⭐ Alluvial Show n Tell

My first trip out in nearly two years was one of my best yet. 0.18 grams, but very good by my usual standards.

    Minelab Gold Monster 1000 experience

Had another try on my front lawn yesterday. The speaker warbles away as soon as you turn it on in the air, with either coil. I’m sure my GM has an issue as it never used to do that. Unfortunately it’s now two and a half years old and out of warranty. Never found a single spec with it in its...

    Minelab Gold Monster 1000 experience

As much as I try to like my GM1000, I just can not find a single thing with it. It screams at everything and if you turn down the sensitivity it just doesn’t see anything notable. Even to the point where you can turn it on while holding it in the air, it will warble away at nothing when you have...

Couple of hours out in the creek yesterday. A whopping 0.26 grams. Almost beating my last PB by double. Was a strange one. This one crevice kept giving and giving. Tried other spots up and down the same creek and nothing at all. If I didn’t stumble on this one little nook I would have come...

Haha! Gotta hate that. I always give my year a good clean after a day out. So I know there wasn’t any specks left in the pan. Hehe! Got the old ‘Rona virus right now, so not in the best shape to give it another crack yet. Maybe in a couple of days. I seem to be on the other side of it now and...

    ⭐ Alluvial Show n Tell

Went out on a quick 15 minute recon mission with my son and found this in the first pan. Yes, it's only a tiny speck. But the interesting thing is that it came from a little creek, literally 3 minutes from my house, in a town that "doesn't have gold".

NSW STATE FORESTS FOSSICKING PERMIT - VERY EASY TO APPLY

Which redirects to the original NSW Forestry page - https://fpos.fcnsw.com.au/FossickMain.ASPX But I guess, at least they are trying to make it more apparent and accessible anyway.

Absolutely! That would be my worry too. I guess it would work in an area known for substantial nuggs. But anything fine would be easily lost.

How to start small gold mine?

I can vouch for this one! Best on the market. Found my first 100 gram’er in about ten minutes flat with this same unit.

Nice job! How do you dry creek pan? Similar concept to the water version? Just shake the pan around and let the heavies got to the bottom and discard the top layers?

Just had a look at that thread. Seems like every post here would be immediately disqualified as it says that the find must be ‘detected and dug up’. I can’t imagine that too many panned items would have been detected first (some possibly, but only the minority).

Thanks Phil! First hour or so was frustrating, but then when the first piece finally showed up, my day was already made! 😃

    ⭐ Alluvial Show n Tell

Another fun day out yesterday. Did a solo mission for about four hours and was completely knackered by the end. This panning gig certainly requires a patient person, which luckily I am. Most of the time the pan was empty, but when it showed up, it certainly felt rewarding. A new record day for...

0.12g from a couple of decent flakes yesterday, which makes it the heaviest day ever for me. A new personal best. Fun day out with a couple of the fellas.
