    DigginForGold Vids

Have definitely thought about the Walhalla area, but its just at that point for me where its far enough away that its too much for a day trip so I like to stay the night but I dont know any good places to camp down that way. And yeah I want to go back to that Gippsland crevice spot when its...

    Power Sluice Conversion

Yeah I am. I've used it a couple of times now. I just silicone the end back on whenever I need it that way. Its been a handy thing. I just made myself a new header box also...and made a thread about it. I've moved away from the spray bar set up. Im yet to test it though so we'll see how it goes.

Yarra Valley Victoria information and questions

I went and had a look at Yankee Jims about a year ago. Tonnes of mica, not pyrite...I think? But I dont really know so could be wrong. I didnt find any colour there either unfortunately but have read somewhere that it can be a little patchy at Yankee Jims. Probably wont head back there myself...

    New Header Box

Thanks. I used a jigsaw with an appropriate blade to make all the cuts. And I bent it by sticking it in between the floor boards on the decking out the back haha but for the piece sticking out the bottom I just popped it on the corner of the concrete stairs out front and hit it with a hammer...

    Snake Gaiters

Could I make my own out of some pvc pipe sewn into some fabric? Obviously not quite as simple as that but you get me. I bet a few jaws just hit the floor..."why would you skimp when it comes to snake protection?". Well, it's better than nothing and I certainly cant afford the real deal anytime...

    New Header Box

Finished :) well, mostly. Glued the T sections and the nozzles together. The rest should hold together as is without glue. It'll allow me to swap which side the pump comes in from depending on the situation and where Im shoveling from. The corners worked out really well in the end. Its only...

    New Header Box

Thanks :) Thanks mate. I did look up a couple of local sheetmetal places but decided against it because of my anxiety and all. I'll take the less than perfection most of the time if it means I can avoid interaction with people haha Im the worst.

    New Header Box

Hello. Ive had a really busy few days but finally got a few hours to myself and so I got around to making myself a new header box for my highbanker...and here it is :) Tis not quite finished yet but Im pretty happy with how it has turned out thus far. Its 300mm wide, and 500mm long. I didnt...

Prospecting / Gold Related TV Shows.

Just watched the new Gold Rush. Tis good to have it back. Love it. Tis going to be an interesting season I think. But Im annoyed with that crap at the end where they show a bunch of stuff "coming up" later in the season. I'd really rather not see that stuff. I usually turn it off when I get to...

    Gold Hog Mats

Am I complicating it though? I feel like I gave a simple explanation of what happens when you bend something. It would seem you're complicating it by saying that the obvious thing that should and would happen actually wont happen in this case, yet providing no real explanation as to why that is...

    Gold Hog Mats

Yeah but it shows how flexible the material is. When you flex something the inner surface compresses and the outer surface stretches, yeah? If the outer surface is stretching apart and if it had prostrusions sticking out of that surface (the riffles), would those protrusions not get pulled apart...

    Gold Hog Mats

Yeah fully aware of the shore hardness scale already. I just meant Im not really sure what you meant about it being to hard to bend on itself since I've seen stuff that directly contradicts that...including the vid in this thread. Never mind. And yeah definately could see what you mean about...

    Gold Hog Mats

Yeah, its not as easy as cleaning out say an AM sluice, but at the same time, it waaay easier than cleaning out miners moss and hungarian riffle set up. I've ran those mats a couple of times now and havent had any issue with stuff sticking in there. Maybe the fact its hard means the stones cant...
