FYI I came across this newly approved EL area in the Canberra Region - pdf map available but I am unable to upload it due to forum security.

EL 8051 was granted to CGNM Resources Pty Ltd on 9 January 2013 for a period of 2 years. The licence is to explore for Group 1 minerals (metallics including gold, silver & copper).

Thanks for the info Jed.

Last year a geological survey plane was spotted over the skies at Bywong.. so I guess the survey showed there was some gold down there. It wouldn't surprise me at all if they found bucket loads out there.

BTW: I was out at the Alma last week and noticed the bush around the various shafts had been cleared by bulldozer. Yesterday I was poking around out there again and now all the shafts have been secured by a cyclone fence with a very substantial looking concrete footing. So things are hotting up out there also.

Here is a picture of the cyclone fence I mentioned, these have been erected around every major shaft on the site.
The footings are very deep and look as though they are there to stay.

Probably a good thing as the shafts were never covered and just an accident waiting to happen..

Many thanks James. I have been offline for Mothers Day in Goulburn.
I was wondering if the Chinese company would be active on this EL given the drop in the gold price - now we know

Hi again James - I just had a thought that maybe the property owner might be trying to make his place safe (for insurance??) or was it crown land then it might be the NSW Govt/a Dept (public liability??) ?
