Hi guys.
Just purchased my first detector and I know it's not exactly the best choice for the job but I was hoping someone could point me to a forum for tips on setting up the nox 600 to better be able to find gold. I will eventually be putting a 6" coil on it for crevices but any links, tips...
Hi mate. Sorry this reply has taken so long.
I frequently use long gully creek for panning. No one seems to mind as I've had many locals pop over for a chat. There's not a lot of gold in it but there is gold there. It was stripped and dredged in the 70s and 80s and the board of works divided...
Hi all. Just wondering were the best place in and around Melbourne and maybe an hour away for the best place to find gemstones.
I'm in outer north eastern suburbs of that helps but happy to travel anywhere around the general greater Melbourne area.
Cheers and thanks
Cheers mate. I think I'll have to actually get out there and have an optic myself.

I'm matt, also new to PA and prospecting in general.
All posts relating to gold, gems, minerals, camping and basically Bushcraft seem to be welcome here and everyone seems pretty friendly.
Welcome to the addiction

Thank for the offer and info. Much appreciated
I have since upgraded. Hopefully it works better but haven't tested tailing yet
I've shortened it and have 10 different miners moss inserts I can remove and raised the expanded mesh to create more low pressure areas. Thinking of adding another layer of expanded metal to set on top and back...
Hi mate. I'm also in Melbourne (Northern suburbs) but would be happy to join you on any prospecting trips up gippsland way. I'm also very new to the hobby but I seem to have caught gold fever.
Let me know if you want a prospecting buddy every now and then
